COVID-19 safety requirements for Hosts & guests
At HostRooster, the safety and well-being of our community are of utmost importance. We understand that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic requires a collective effort to ensure the safety of both hosts and guests participating in our platform. To this end, we have established a set of COVID-19 safety requirements that all hosts and guests must adhere to. These measures are designed to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission while enjoying unique experiences and accommodations.
General Safety Measures
Mask Usage and Social Distancing: Hosts and guests must wear masks and practice social distancing when required by local laws or guidelines. This includes maintaining a minimum distance of 6 feet (2 meters) apart from each other at all times.
Limiting Group Size: Hosts should consider limiting their experiences to a maximum of 10 participants, which includes any hosts or co-hosts. This limitation helps ensure that groups remain small and manageable.
Cleaning Guidelines: Hosts must follow HostRooster's cleaning guidelines to clean their spaces and any equipment used during experiences. This includes thorough cleaning between each experience instance. For detailed cleaning recommendations, hosts can refer to HostRooster's official cleaning guidelines.
Mandatory Compliance: All experience hosts and guests are required to follow these safety requirements. Failure to comply may result in hosts stopping guests from participating in the experience, and guests may not be eligible for a refund in such cases.
Guest Health and Responsibility
To safeguard the health and safety of our community, it is our policy that guests should not participate in HostRooster experiences if any of the following conditions are true:
Active Infection: Guests who are actively infected or have tested positive with COVID-19 in the past 30 days should refrain from participating in any HostRooster experience.
Suspected Illness: If guests suspect they are sick, have been exposed to COVID-19, or are waiting for COVID-19 test results, they should avoid participating in experiences.
Symptoms: Guests experiencing symptoms or concerns about potential COVID-19 infection should not take part in any HostRooster experience.
Close Contact: Guests who have had close contact over time with someone confirmed or suspected to be infected with COVID-19 within the last 14 days should prioritize safety and postpone their participation in experiences.
Maintaining Clean Hands
To uphold safety standards and minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission, hosts and guests should maintain proper hand hygiene. Here are key practices to follow:
Handwashing: It's advisable to wash hands before, during, and after participating in a HostRooster experience. Guests and hosts should wash their hands for at least 20 seconds. This should be done before handling food, eating, interacting with domestic or working animals, using the bathroom, or after blowing the nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Hand Sanitizer: If soap and water are not readily available, hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content should be used. Hands should be covered thoroughly, and rubbing should continue until they are dry.
Food Consumption: When sharing meals or beverages, family-style dining and buffets should be avoided. Instead, individual plated food options are recommended.
Positive COVID-19 Test Results
In the event a guest tests positive for COVID-19 shortly after participating in a HostRooster experience, it is their responsibility to notify anyone who may have been impacted or potentially exposed. This also includes informing the relevant local authorities.
Host Adaptation and Safety Measures
Hosts should consider adapting their experiences to comply with health and safety guidelines. Here are some key considerations for hosts:
Physical Contact: Hosts should make necessary changes to their activities to avoid physical contact among guests and between hosts and guests.
Hygiene: Opportunities for guests to wash their hands during the experience should be provided. Hosts should also supply extra hand sanitizer. All equipment should be sanitized between guests, both during the experience and between instances.
Location: For indoor experiences, limiting guest access to only necessary spaces within the host's home is recommended. If possible, outdoor spaces should be utilized, or meeting locations should be changed to avoid crowds. Hosts should also consider transit options that allow for physical distancing.
Food and Drink: For experiences that include food and beverages, social distancing practices while consuming items should be enforced. When possible, guests should enjoy food and drinks outdoors or as take-home options. Self-serve options should be avoided in favor of individually plated services.
Ventilation: Adequate ventilation in indoor spaces should be ensured. This includes operating ventilation systems correctly and increasing outdoor air circulation by opening windows and doors.
Hosts are encouraged to keep these safety measures in mind as they adapt their experience descriptions and spaces. It is important to emphasize that additional safety measures can be taken as needed to ensure the well-being of both hosts and guests. While hosts can communicate their commitment to these safety measures, they should avoid claiming that their experience is "COVID-free" or using similar language.
By adhering to these COVID-19 safety requirements, HostRooster aims to create a secure and enjoyable environment for all participants. We appreciate the cooperation of our hosts and guests in promoting the health and well-being of our community during these challenging times. Your commitment to safety is valued and vital in making HostRooster a trusted platform for unique experiences and accommodations.
